LIFELESS

A young man stands as a child

An empty heart, a broken smile

A simple voice, a simple style

As he stands alone against the miles...

Forgotten promises and unlived dreams

The thought keeps repeating

As he wanders alone

Through the empty city streets

Finding it hard to believe

He closes his eyes caught within a dream

The days are long

When there's nothing to do

The days so short

When he's here with you

All his life he's waited

For that chance of escaping

All this time so wasted

Here in this lifeless place

Out there beyond the heat

Lies a world well elite

On the edge of his mind

Like a far fetched dream

Flashing lights and hi-rise heights

The senseless hype of the city life

He feels so lifeless

So scared...

Clutching onto something as he drifts

Not always sure if he even exists

As he looks on he clenches his fist

There in the horizon

Somewhere, there, beyond the mist...
