BACK STREETS

Feel his heart beat

Trembling from the heat

A young boy walking

Through the city streets

His spirit wanders

His mind it wonders

As he looks around

At the world that surrounds him

Here in the back streets

Is where the children play

Here in the back streets

Life is always the same

Drawn in his daydreams

In the hot summer sun

He points to the unknown

To the life that's beyond

Will he ever see

The world outside the city

That for now seems so close

So close to his destiny

Will it ever change

Will it stay the same

Children playing

In the alleys and the back streets

Will it ever change

Will it always stay the same

The world in it's wake

Of a child's gigantic dream...
